| From the few houses of my own
that I
have sold I have noticed that the buyers tend to have the same tastes as I do.
So I have filled this site with house photos that I like of things that I like.
All the photos on this site were taken from the house or property except the
boat trip up the Roanoke River series and those in the Bicycling at Smith
Mountain Lake articles. Most site visitors will get a
feeling of this house's personality and know if it is for them or not.
This house will probably appeal to nature lovers and camera buffs. There
is plenty of photography here. This is that kind of house. If you
would like to contact me my e-mail address is
wbz111@gmail.com. This website is designed to give the viewer plenty of information about my house. Hopefully you will like the site and the house! The site could be built for your house. It sounds like most buyers find the houses they are interested in online now. An in-depth visual website will detail your home in a most appealing manner--and set your house apart. When you are here you can feel the peace and serenity of the home and location. Your attitude will be the world is such a beautiful place. This 1.7 acre property is close to central areas yet surprisingly private and quiet. It has very nice water frontage on three sides of the house and property. It is enjoyable to just sit here and enjoy the ever changing views. You can watch the fish jump or the heron fly by. Fishermen can come close and boaters often cruise by on the main channel. And the deer sometimes come to eat the acorns. Then the season changes and you see new and different sunsets, moonsets, snow scenes, fog, fall color, spring growth and color, etc. The thing that is cool about the view here is that it is dynamic. It changes on a regular basis. There are many boats, fisherman in boats, Christmas parade boats, rowboats, kayaks, fireworks, different seasons, different weather with blue skies, rain or snow, and then there are the sunsets and moonsets. I find myself spending lots of time just looking at the view. Great bird watching too! It is very relaxing to just hang out. Everyone likes sitting around watching the world go by--maybe while having a glass of wine or beer. You can break that up with some boat or Sea-Doo rides. Going out on the forty-mile-long lake changes you consciousness every time! And going out in the boat at night is surprisingly special. Each boat trip becomes a new warm memory. And you can drive the boats to a number of restaurants, Bridgewater Plaza, the State Park, or just sightsee. It is the good life. Half a dozen people here at Smith Mountain Lake have float planes. There is enough room on this property for another dock or hanger. Every time I see one of the planes take off I look at ebay to see what one would cost. There are some interesting deals! In the next cove over someone has a copter. They land it on their deck over the dock. (There is a small local airport here at the lake too.) This is a great place to live. Telecommute or retire here. The living here is very easy--and real peaceful and quiet. Taxes are low. This is a wonderfully scenic and quiet cove. It is not quite large enough for people to come here to water ski or Sea-Doo around and around. The house sits on 1.7 acres. There is plenty of room to expand the house or add docks. The water is nice and deep. There is a small beach near the dock. In a way the house and yard are like a painter's canvas that you can finesse any way you like. It all depends on how you want to live your life. |
Latest Video - If this loads too slowly click here. (Then cross your fingers!)
The video includes about ninety degrees of the one-hundred-eighty-degree water view.
The neighboring docks and cove can be quite colorful.

House from the Lake Side - Two car detached garage is to the left.
(3340 square feet, 3 Bedroom, 3 Bath)

Partial Kitchen View - the water wraps around three sides. New rip-rap and junipers along the shoreline.
Sunset Video - a little rough and camera noisy--it may need a minute to load first time through
Floatplane Video - I just shot this. Missed the beginning trying to open the window. I shot through the glass.
